For my extended project, I want to look into the film
industry, the reason behind this is simply because I've gained a keen passion
for this type of media through doing several successful units in college. Whilst
experiencing the film industry, I have found that my work has been best in the
camera-work and directing side of this particular industry and I enjoy working
and gaining experience in this area of work. I'm completely open to every aspect of Film and like to think that I'm passionate and flexible enough to not only enjoy this industry but to be energetic enough to excel in any and every role I'm given.
Last year, I spent a lot of my spare time working on a project outside of college where
I filmed a documentary/reality, 5 to 10 minuet biography about underground music culture, for a particular radio show broadcasted through Sheffield Live Radio on a Tuesday
night named "Urban Expression". With this project I've experienced a lot of different
aspects of directing and working behind the camera from working the camera itself, and balancing all the technical elements that goes along with this, to giving feedback on directional creative ideas. With this project I'm looking to
broaden my knowledge with this specific side of media as well as gain something out of
the project itself to give me more opportunities in this type of business in the future. From doing this project outside of college, I believe that it has allowed me to gain a in-depth perspective on individual, self-driven projects and gained me more
recognition through the success of the film, which shows I'm capable of setting out, finalising and creating a reasonable product on my own accord.
